High-Performance Fibre Network Isolation for Streaming Audio
The Reiki Audio OpticalBridge X with Pro X PSU is a premium fibre network bridge designed to provide galvanic isolation between your network and streaming audio system. Building on the original OpticalBridge, which launched in 2023 and has been adopted in high-end audio systems internationally, the OpticalBridge X combines new lower-noise FMC circuitry, a carefully selected ultra-low-noise SFP transceiver and a substantially upgraded mechanical platform.
The OpticalBridge X is designed to convert a Gigabit Ethernet connection to an optical fibre connection, providing a practical way to introduce fibre isolation into a high-performance streaming system. The unit connects to your network via its Gigabit Ethernet port and provides an SFP optical output for connection to your streamer or downstream network equipment.
New X Series Construction
The OpticalBridge X features a 10mm milled and ceramic-coated aluminium chassis, doubling the case thickness of the original 5mm design. The increased chassis mass provides greater mechanical rigidity and additional shielding from radiated RFI.
The base of the OpticalBridge X is also copper-lined. When positioned with the matching Pro X PSU, the 10mm aluminium top plate of the PSU and the 10mm aluminium/copper-lined base of the OpticalBridge X create a substantial physical barrier between the bridge circuitry and the PSU circuitry and transformer.
New Lower-Noise FMC Circuitry
At the heart of the OpticalBridge X is an all-new audiophile-quality Fibre Media Converter (FMC) circuit, developed to provide lower electrical noise than the original OpticalBridge.
The circuit board incorporates additional anti-vibration damping treatment, while silver-plated OFC internal wiring with PTFE insulation is used throughout the signal path.
Ultra-Low-Noise SFP Transceiver
Reiki Audio has carefully selected a new ultra-low-noise SFP transceiver module for the OpticalBridge X. The selected module is supplied as standard and is matched to the design of the new FMC platform.
The OpticalBridge X is supplied with a 1m single-mode optical fibre cable, allowing the fibre connection to be integrated directly into your streaming system.
Designed for Fibre Isolation
Fibre provides electrical isolation between the copper Ethernet connection and the optical network connection. The OpticalBridge X allows this isolation to be introduced close to the streamer, separating the downstream network connection from the electrical network infrastructure upstream.
The unit provides a Gigabit Ethernet input and SFP optical output, making it suitable for systems using a network switch, optical network infrastructure or a dedicated fibre connection to the streamer.
Vibration Control
The OpticalBridge X incorporates a range of mechanical measures intended to control vibration. The circuit board receives anti-vibration damping treatment, while the chassis is supported on aluminium/silicone isolation feet.
An optional upgrade to Stack Audio Auva EQ isolation feet is also available. Reiki Audio supplies a specially commissioned threaded version of the Auva EQ for the X Series.
Reiki Audio Pro X PSU
The OpticalBridge X is supplied with the matching Reiki Audio Pro X fully linear power supply. The Pro X features a matching 10mm aluminium chassis and a 25% larger true Audio Grade transformer than the previous PRO PSU.
Its low-impedance linear design uses custom-designed low-noise circuitry and high-quality components to provide stable, low-ripple, low-noise DC power to the OpticalBridge X.
The Pro X PSU features a milled aluminium case with no LEDs or unnecessary indicators. The 10mm aluminium top plate is designed to accommodate the OpticalBridge X, while the copper-lined 10mm aluminium base of the OpticalBridge X provides additional separation between the bridge circuitry and the PSU circuitry and transformer.
Note: The Pro X PSU does not include an AC power cable as standard. Reiki Audio expects many customers to use a preferred aftermarket power cable of their own choice.
